Edinburgh Festival

Karen and Jan and I are in Edinburgh having the best time!

Karen got me a cool thing called a Gorillapod. You can use it to squish your camera securely onto anything as a tripod.

We’re staying in a little road near the Haymarket called Dalry Gate:

The main reason we’re here is the Edinburgh Book Festival. We’re going to lots of talks and workshops at the festival in Charlotte Square.

As it happens, the Book Festival is not the only thing on… there’s the International Arts Festival. And the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. And the Edinburgh Arts Festival. And the Military Tattoo.

And we’re seeing a bit of the wonderful city…

Me at the Queen’s Hall on Tuesday, before we listened to a Czech string quartet.

Edinburgh nightlife…

Morning dew on some colourful leaves outside our apartment:

    Hi Lisa,

Looks as though you are having a great time over there in the East. Wonder if you have had time to see the new parliament building… it’s REALLY worth a look if you have time…. designed by a Spanish architect, Enric Miralles, and it provokes very varied responses from people. Take care, Gwenn
