Brene Brown on the power of vulnerability

So many moments of glowing, funny truth in this. I particularly loved this insight for parents near the end of the talk:
“When we hold those perfect little babies in our hands, our job is not to say Look at her, she’s perfect, my job is to keep her perfect, to make sure she makes the tennis team by the 5th grade and Yale by the 7th. That’s not our job. Our job is to say You know what, you’re imperfect and you’re wired for struggle, but you’re worth of love and belonging. That’s our job. ”

Here’s a link to an article that connects to this topic. Maybe there’s a change in the wind, and the days of helicopter parenting are numbered. Sure hope so!
